The lowest prices are 10 minutes off the freeway, because everyone else is charging close to freeway.
Because charging takes a ridiculous amount of time for most EVs, congestion is a real thing.
So now I'm investing 40-80 EXTRA minutes of my time to refuel my vehicle, whereas before, with ICE, I knew basically what prices I would pay, it took 5 minutes, and I had many more choices. I also had a range of 350-500 miles depending on vehicle, getting me even further than EVs (especially at fast highway speeds.)
It's understandable people are still hesitant on the EV investment. I get it for commuting and day-to-day, but those long trips are a true test in patience...
Many states are now getting Tesla Supercharger stations with dynamic pricing. Tesla has run the numbers and claims that live pricing lowers Supercharger congestion.
