So at the current time of this writing its sold 4 million copies, with 700,000 current active players and it is only 2 weeks old. Everyone loves what they are doing and nobody but one website is giving it a bad review? Id say that says alot about that website and obviously they dont know what they are talking about at all. Maybe they shouldn't give reviews about games they dont play or care to play then because their opinion doesnt qualify anymore? Definitely NOT professional at all because true gamers dont care about the voices so much to the point they are saying. It sounds perfectly fine and the gameplay is great, movement, skill-tree, fighting, pvp, is all wonderful with amazing graphics and its fun and addictive. Remember people, opinions are like arseholes, everyone's got one and think their s*** dont stink! Doesnt make them right though. At least I know one site I will never listen to when it comes to ratings...they couldn't be more wrong.
Do you honestly expect a studio to HIRE a voice actor for EVERY voice? Is EVERYTHING have to be created by a human? Get real.
Honestly, I'd HOPE that developers toss a BUNCH of "AI" to the seemingly always LAME NPC's and I long for games that are DIFFERENT every time I play them due to different parts of the "game world" being dynamically regenerated for each play through. :)
well they also use AI to generate the voices of the commentators in the finals and those ended up being great. there are threads on reddit about who the real voice actors are and that the female commentator sounds like cara delevingne.
Not all websites are praising Embark Studios' new extraction shooter. One Arc Raiders review has given the game a poor rating due to its reliance on generative AI. In response, some gamers counter that the limited use of an AI voice generator should not be controversial.
