That's pretty surprising, honestly. I figured Xbox Series X and S numbers would be higher by now, especially with all the Game Pass titles and exclusives. But maybe people are just waiting for the next big release or sticking with older consoles longer. I've been gaming less on console lately too — got hooked on this weird little mobile game called crazy cattle 3d. It's silly but oddly relaxing after a long day. Sometimes simplicity wins.

MS is in a pickle because overlap of xbox and windows. Not to mention many people bought xboxes back in the day when PS was overpriced due to the bluray vs HD DVD war. At equal price, most won't bother with an xbox.

For well over an year you cannot even buy XSX in many EU countries. Microsoft does not want to sale so the sales are low.

Well, sales vs tales is the real factor here, in my opinion.

Gaming spans to all ages... from youth to seniors; and reaches every corner of the globe. In some regions, people may even own a gaming device before they own a television.

These devices do more than entertain; they tell stories (tales) and foster social connections in ways that can extend much farther than traditional forms of social interaction; and push that... uhm... message(s) (Uncle Phil's style).

Of course, most companies would ideally want profitability from all their segments, but that doesn't seem to be Microsoft's primary goal with its Xbox division.

Remember, MS just reported record-profits... again; and now, MS is part of the 4T club. The difference between NVIDIA 4T value & now MS 4T value; MS has an extremely amount of free cash on reserve compared to NVIDIA, folks.

Think about that.
