Correction: Electric cars with small batteries are not as practical for long trips. Any medium-large battery EV that has fast charging is plenty practical for long trips.
Remember that you have to stop to pee, to eat, to drink, to rest... at least every couple of hours (three is already stretching it). And at night it is recommended to sleep too!

Aren't others already moving beyond LFP? LFP is nice but hardly revolutionary.

I'm not sure what's more embarrassing: The author thinking switching to LFePO4 is revolutionary, or that it took VW so long.

When I saw the headline I naturally thought, wow they must be adopting solid-state batteries earlier than expected. But no, still dinosaur tech Li Ion batteries

VW... Using LFP... Why did it take VW so long?

Other brands have been using them for several years already.

If VW is still putting capacitive buttons in their cars, I won't purchase at any price.
