Might want to cut back on the Koolaid there, my friend.

The "feat" of engineering was mainly to move all the electronics onto one board at the top. To do that they had to make quite a few compromises like eliminating the bottom speakers. As for the transparent back being special or even visually unique, it's been done lots of times and dBrand makes a skin like this for many phones if you don't want to risk damaging it by replacing the back.

If you like the industrial style, sure, but most phones look like this if you replace their backs with a transparent one.
