I also saw it and I was on my way to give a shot then I remembered something:
A few years ago (it may be 2022) there was a company kickstarting a new 3D Printer, with some super high printing speeds, ai webcam overwatch and other stuff for like 800€ (tax excl. cause kickstarter?). Everyone was like "you have to get this one". I didn't bought it, cause I thought "if it is really that great and works like that long enough, I have to wait and others will make products like this, too."
While they where shipping their forst "Next gen printers", a new kickstarter poped up, promising the same speed but for way less money.
And now?
Go to your favorite 3D printer store and get one.
I know it looks good, but let's be realistic:
- They are milling alu in one their videos. Great right? ... yeah nobody tells you about the tensile strength of it: It coud easily range from 100 to 570 N/mm². Standard steel for steel construction is at 370 N/mm². Let's just guess it's at the lower end, because it's a lot easier.
- If you are from the US: TAXES!
- If anything breaks it would be a pain in the a** to fix it, cause that warranty could be nothing more than a false promise in the end.
- The software is as important as the hardware, it might run well on windows, but you can only dream of mac os or linux.
I for myself are still interested in buying one from a local shop, also to get two years of limited warranty.
