Somehow only Tesla gets called out for pushing vaporware.
Pretty sure they can be built individually in a lab for a budget that can buy a house, getting cost down and automating assembly is the problem
"Journalists" need to stop passing off these PR releases as news.
Every battery manufacturer that wasn't a startup was communicating that mainstream SSBs will arrive around 2030. Somehow every car maker (Lexus, BMW, Mercedess and Chinese ones) communicated that they will release limited production cars around 2027. Those will use pilot production SSBs.
These timelines are reasonable.
What Tesla and specifically Musk communicated - they will have a feature or new tech ready by the end of current year or next year. And they've consistently missed the mark for as long as Tesla was making cars. They deserve their reputation.
