Each year on International E-Waste Day, the German Federal Statistical Office publishes figures on the recycling of electronic waste. In 2023, approximately 747,000 tons of e-waste was recycled – a weight equivalent to the cargo of seven of the world's largest container ships. Despite this high rate, small appliances remain the biggest problem.
