Greetings! May I ask a question pertaining to color accuracy testing methodology for smartphones? Is there any chance I could get an answer, or Notebookcheck stuff doesn't engage with comments?

Quotebut I hope future models will have a removable battery like phones used to have
I agree in the sense that mid-range SOCs have enough performance to easily last a few years longer than the 6 years of official support and only then you'd need to replace the battery, right? So the official 6 years would need to be increased as well.

Quotealso great in emergency situations where you need to be able to listen to the radio for important information
And when would you need that? Let me answer by quoting someone: "Approximately never."

Great with both 3.5mm jack and uSD-card slot, but I hope future models will have a removable battery like phones used to have, just pop off the back and switch to a new fully charged battery.
I also wonder what happened to the FM-radio feature that phones with 3.5mm jacks used to have, it's great to save battery and when you are out of data/out of range, also great in emergency situations where you need to be able to listen to the radio for important information.

This morning I got a emergency message from the local government that said I had to listen to the local radio station for more information about the emergency. I have an old phone with 3.5mm jack and radio, so I just had to plug in headphones and open the radio app to listen to the emergency FM broadcast.
Phone manufacturers should bring back useful features like easily removable/replaceable batteries and FM radio.

From June 2025 EU requires 5 years updates after the smartphone stops selling.
So 6 years from Sony is nothing special. It is required minimum(1y selling + then 5 years) for new smartphones.

I really hope next year's 1 VIII will have at least a 48MP 1/2.55" telephoto camera. It has been long overdue for a sensor upgrade. There's nothing wrong with the continuous optical zoom solution, it's just that 12MP 1/3.5" just doesn't cut it.

The Sony Xperia 1 VII is an extremely fast, high-end smartphone with a unique set of features. Equipped with a 7.1x optical zoom and Zeiss lenses, it also comes with special features such as a headphone jack and a microSD slot. The premium phone has even already received the Android 16 update. Our review reveals whether photo enthusiasts can take advantage of these features.
