Thanks to Axiom Space and Red Hat, edge computing is now making its way to space. Known as AxDCU-1, the first orbital data center prototype is now being tested on the International Space Station. Instead of transmitting data to Earth for analysis, it crunches numbers locally and only sends down the results.
