NGC 6302, auch bekannt als Schmetterlingsnebel oder Caldwell 69, war für seinen Kern bekannt, der aufgrund einer warmen Staubwolke nicht sichtbar war. Dank der neuen Aufnahmen des Webb-Weltraumteleskops, die die Struktur des Nebels zeigen, konnten Wissenschaftlern diese Wolke nun durchdringen.
