Maybe Apple could invest in a better camera app instead leaving it in a 2018 state that can't even take pictures in darker scenes properly.

Hybrid shutter is the magic word that apparently prompted Apple to abandon its long-standing collaboration with Sony as the exclusive supplier of camera sensors for iPhones. A report from South Korea about certain camera technology presented at ISSCC 2025 sheds some light on the background of Apple's new collaboration with Samsung and its investment in a manufacturing facility in the US, which doesn't appear to be as politically motivated as one might suspect.
