So you believe that we should live in a corporation controlled world where humans have no human rights?

Putting labels that require companies to make it clear what product they are selling is hardly soviet socialism. It makes it clear how much battery life a phone/tablet has, how many cycles the battery lasts, and how repairable it is and how durable it is.

If the writer read through Apple's white paper on this topic, "EU Energy Label for iPhone and iPad: An Explanation of Apple's Methodology" (page 9), it shows that the B rating was a result of voluntarily derate from Apple themselves, since the regulation is still in relatively early phase. They did note they achieved A rating as well. Alternatively whether to believe this or not is up to one's own judgement

Because otherwise the computer manufacturers control us with consumer-despising product features, such as terrible maintenance.

The EU energy label for mobile devices aims to provide an overview of the energy efficiency, battery lifespan, durability and repairability of smartphones and tablets to help consumers make informed purchase decisions. Whilst some devices managed to earn top marks, flagships models such as Apple's iPhones fell short of achieving an "A" rating.
