The aforementioned Edifier only supports SBC. And that is because the source devices that support it are very rare. It is night impossible to get any better codec (LDAC, LC3, aptx) to work on Windows. Anything mobile will either have a version of aptx on Qualcom or some custom codec from a Chinese manufacturer.
This is why no one is rushing to put new radios in. It simply does not bring any improvements onto the table aside from potential better efficiency.

Android 14+ supports LC3.

IQOO Air3 supports LC3 which you can buy on AliExpress. There are a few other BT headphones that support LC3.

Bluetooth 6 is expected to slowly but surely gain wider acceptance this year. A few devices already support the new standard, and more are expected. What exactly does Bluetooth 6 offer, and what's new?
