Volkswagen has announced a new partner in bringing up-to-5G data transfers to next-gen cars. Oppo, a leading holder of cellular technology intellectual property (IP) as well as an Android OEM, is touted to bring a new standard of connectivity to the automaker's vehicles. It will license its Standard Essential Patents (SEPs) to Volkswagen worldwide in the future.
