If it's any consolation, every switch comes with a dock with a LAN gigabit port. So I mean, if you're serious about absolute ping/latency and stability, it doesn't matter what WiFi standard they use because WiFi will always be WiFi.

I mean yeh, but I'm not sure why you're upset about this just now? The iPhone came out in 2007 for $500. And that was a lot back then. We've had $1000+ smartphones for almost a decade now. Did you honestly think other companies weren't watching and didn't also want a slice of the pie?

This battle was lost long ago. Affordability no longer matters and hasn't in ages. I'm bracing myself to take out mortgage payments for the next generation of gaming, so I'm pretty much set.

So they not only raise the price to $450 but they use wifi6? How much do they save per unit by not using at least wifi6e? This could be a problem especially since I read one article where the same fame took 2.5 hours, for 22 GB! What is this 2010! Then the screen is around 450-500 cd² so no HDR when in handheld mode. Im sure they did this, because of the small battery, if they went to 1000 or even 800 nits that would kill the battery. They at least made it 1080 120hz,so thats probably more important for people gaming handheld than a  brighter screen. Either way for $450 which is more than the PS5 digital edition cost when new it feels like they took too many shortcuts. None of this will matter to fans though, they'll grumble but pay and they'll grumble about games costing $80-90 for the base version but they will still buy them. Thats the problem, these companies know they can cut corners and charge more and more and people will pay the price. Pretty soon a game like GTA6 will come along and charge $100 for the base game and we can all look at Nintendo and their fans and grumble and pay the $100. Just like Nvidia with $2k cards and people will buy them up and even pay above msrp.thanks alot ya bunch of morons. I swear people no longer have self control.

I would be curious of what the close range Wifi speed is, and if Gigabit Ethernet is saturated

Shipping of the Nintendo Switch 2 began today. We gave the console a test run and compared it with its predecessor in order to find out where Nintendo has improved and where there might still be room for improvement.
