People should enforce a policy to especially not buy those items for which you saw an advertisement.

I honestly have no idea how is this any news when people know that to be the case for 15+ years now. All those "how do Facebook shows me exactly what I was talking/chatting/searching about a moment ago without using Facebook"? Well THAT is how.

• 5 months ago: Do you believe that Facebook app is listening to your conversations?
• 4 years ago: Facebook tracked my search even though I don't have Facebook. How?
• 6 years ago: How does FB know what I'm googling?
• 8 years ago: Is Facebook listening and creating conversation-based ads on Instagram? I think so, and I put it to the test using WireShark.
• + literally hundreds of identical conversations about that matter...

And yet again, no one will be held accountable or go to jail over these types of actions.

Just another class-action lawsuit where the victims get $20 while the class-action lawyers make millions. Companies will never change until the people running them are personally held accountable criminally for systemic or blatant illegal activity under their leadership.
