Funny, this has been around forever and never really worked given it was based on uploaded pictures or webcam images - I can see the VR/AR approach making this technically possible, and it's an exciting enhancement, but the hardware requirements to make this viable for shoppers are insane and unrealistic.
And those who can afford the hardware, are more likely to be shopping in person rather than trying to virtually strap things on..
Once again, it's a technical marvel looking for a problem - this is DOA.
This is a fascinating advancement in online shopping! Google's integration of AI for virtual try-ons could significantly enhance the online apparel shopping experience by allowing users to visualize clothing on themselves. It's impressive to see how technology is bridging the gap between physical and online retail. Looking forward to seeing how this evolves and becomes more accessible globally.
Google Shopping is getting major AI updates. This will enable a number of new functions, including the virtual try-on of garments. However, this currently only works in the US.
