No they're not "premapping" the area like waymo, you made that part up.  These changes are likely conditions from regulators rather than teslas goal

I will NEVER use this due to DonElon fascism, lack of safety vs Waymo, and billionaires wanting to be trillionaires on our backs like tax loan deficits to THEM and Federal purchases of DonElon crap like $400 million contract for armored Tesla vehicles.

Elon Musk has confirmed that Tesla's robotaxi platform that will launch in Austin in June will be a lot like Waymo, instead of wandering about freely with FSD on. The initial batch will include ten pilot vehicles.
