....right! The one you just bought (v2) is a model from 2016... How dare they change models every 10 years or so! Clearly planned obsolescence!

But I have good news for you: Hue typically supports its stuff for ages, suppoort for the v1, the predecessor from 2012 does not get any software updates anymore since 2020, 5 years after the next bridge came to market. So I would count on at least 5 years support...

Just bought v2 to replace v1. Never again. Clearly planned obsolescence!

Philips Hue is rumored to be working on a new version of a popular product: the Hue Bridge. The latest version of this smart home hub launched nearly a decade ago, though it has received many improvements in software releases.
