Needs to increase memory bandwidth. Four channel 10k mt cu-dimms would be a good baseline.

Desktop... Yes. At least on the custom builds part.

But they really need to step up their game with laptops.

They have good stuff, but somehow it seems that years later they still get de-buffed versions compared to Intel, driver issues, worse battery efficiency (Intel's 288V efficiency is quite impressive, though too expensive), and poor availability (sometimes it seems as if they build barely enough chips to not be called paper launches).

The AMD Zen 6 CPUs are expected to land some time in 2026. So far, leaks have claimed that the next-gen Zen 6 architecture will bring more cores, more L3 cache, and higher boost clocks to desktop CPUs. A new leak has now confirmed the per-CCD core count and cache increase.
