Samsung is laying the groundwork to make thin or thinner devices the norm, as smartphones OEMs are making plans to possibly move on from the slab, bezels, and glass of today's smartphone. With AI being embedded in these devices and new battery technology continuously in development, Samsung is envisioning for a thin, but powerful future flagship smartphones in their entire lineup in the future. Their will be no Edge branding in the future because all their flagship devices will be thin devices.
This misses the point: the phones while persona is based on being thin. There's no groundwork there. Unless they can bring out a better performance than the ultra line or better battery life than anything else they put out, this is water materials. The only thing that has ever come out of thin phones is complaints about worse thermals. Mr. Bagnell is right. Absent any innovation or improvement, thin design is a sign that they are just throwing stuff at the wall to see what sticks.
