As someone who bought a fenix 7x pro solar barely a year ago for 1000 euros, every article about "current flagships" receiving dozens of new features feels like a slap in the face. The fact that garmin just fully stopped supporting its 1yo ultra premium flagships is completely unacceptable.
What makes it worse is that the hardware is basically the same, recent analysis shows that barely any actual parts were changed from the fenix 7 to the fenix 8 series. The same software would work on the previous generarion with zero extra work from garmin devs.So all of this cannot be explained by anything other than a blatant greedy cash grab.
This was the first and last garmin product I ever purchased.
Garmin is not slowing up in its pursuit of squashing bugs on its latest high-end smartwatches. While the company recently delivered a rather sparse new stable build for the Fenix 8 and other devices, its latest beta update brings another dozen improvements to take a future v15.xx build beyond 160 changes.
