Sorry to disappoint but Linux/valve (steam OS)/Apple(macOS) are helping them in a more sinister way.

Best option is to develop and use own software and hardware just like China or be ready to get disappointed again and again.

Not the only reason why Microsoft should be boycotted these days. They're currently actively supporting the Israeli defence force with Azure, their web service and cloud compute platform, to basically help find 5 year olds faster to snipe / execute with drones in Palestine.

Every time there's Palestinian protest in solidarity within Microsoft's own employees they either get shut down, pushed out the company or layed off. It's disgusting how pro-isreal Microsoft is.

Google is also complicit in this as well although they're a bit harder to boycott since they own search and YouTube, with no real alternatives. Same with Android. They really need to be broken up.
