The 4090 mobile in a strong implementation has similar performance to the 4070 TI, so I believe that the 5090 mobile with full performance should be equivalent or perhaps slightly superior to the 4070 TI SUPER due to the small 10-15% gain.

In this generation the difference became greater since the 5070 TI was far away...

More interested in the laptop RTX 5080 anyway. How does that compare to a desktop card? Like a RTX 4070?

Early tests have shown that the laptop RTX 5080 is almost as fast as the laptop RTX 5090 but sometimes up to 10%-15% slower.

Also rtx 5080 laptops seem to be significantly cheaper 5090 ones. Though still super expensive and overpriced..

Not sure if I'd use average figures for comparison.

The Time Spy scores on average are about 19K for a Zephyrus 16, 22K for the Razer Blade 16 with HX 370 this year, and 25K+ for the XMG Neo 16.

Given the 4070 Ti Super itself as tested would've been in a testbench or an otherwise beefy system with sufficient power, CPU headroom and cooling, it makes sense to compare to a laptop with sufficient power, CPU headroom and cooling as well, i.e. the best with the best. Ideally I'd even wait for the Raider 18 with the 9955HX3D for a true comparison.

The 5090 laptop comparison is being let down here by the underperforming Zephyrus and to a lesser extent the RB16.

I think it will be nice for notebookcheck to also include LLM, Stable Diffusion and Flux tests for new laptops as many of them have NPUs now and it's interesting to compare different GPU results. It can be Ollama, LM Studio tokens pesr second for most popular models like llama. And confyui with basic workflows for stable diffusion 1.5, SDXL, Flux 1D (using nf4, gguf, bf 8 and 16 models). 5090 may have huge performance gain in NF4.

of course is fully expected but price point for mobile cards should be much lower and matching it performance. Prices of entire 5xxx is unacceptable but for laptops is unacceptable ^2.

Not sure why you're complaining. 5090 mobile has nothing to do with 5090 desktop, it's a lower powered 5080 desktop and performing similarly a 4070 Ti is fully expected.

Gaming performance with the flagship mobile RTX 5090 is closer to an upper midrange last generation  GPU for desktop PCs. While somewhat disappointing, the power savings with the newer mobile chip arguably make up for it.
