Ok, sure while on the one hand who is trying to play high frame rate competitive games on a under powered device anyway? Right?
"Fake Frames"
If the GPU is tasked with generating less FPS while other process are creating 'filler' intermediary frames to smooth out the motion of elements on the screen the device might require/consume much less power while providing an acceptable experience for titles where lag/response time/timing is not critical or an issue.
People need to get used to "fake frames". There is only so much that can be done with hardware in a laptop without melting it or playing it in a freezer. This is the direction laptops will continue to go. Especially thin ones and its only a matter of time before the largest laptops will have to go this route too. Desktop now are already catching fire from raw power.
As for the Demo, it gives me hope for this route and AI based FPS in laptops.
