Hmm, seems a waste to go up in bulk size for the Omen 17, only to lose out on the 16:10 aspect ratio and taller resolution options of the 16.

On the bright side, it does appear to be a proper standard panel seated durably and replaceably underneath a removeable bezel. This is in contrast to the Omen 16, at least the Transcend version, which features a fragile, application-specific, glossy edge-to-edge laminated glass panel.
