This is the only article I've seen that says anything about Deep Silver co-developing killing floor 3. Even Tripwires official FAQ says that Tripwire is the developer and publisher, with no mention of Deep Silver. Has anyone been able to verify that Deep Silver has had any hand in killing floor 3?

Nice try. I've been playing Killing Floor since it was an UT2004 mod. I have thousands of hours in KF1 and KF2, probably significantly more than you. KF3 is Killing Floor in name only. It's a MTX-pushing hero shooter with a Killing Floor skin slapped on it trying to cash in on the hype of other hero shooters.  It will be dead less than a year from launch, mark my words.

Quote from: Dobbie on February 23, 2025, 06:30:02Yes it's not polished its Beta.
Yes it has performance issues it's BETA..
But after 30 hours the gun customisation is awesome upgrade from the older kf2. Playing Hard matches is actually hard unless you have a competent team. He'll on earth is brutal.
The mobility is excellent sliding about/ dodging using the environment more with ziplines and preset traps I just can't complain about it. It's realy good fun

A pitiful excuse when the "beta" is literally one month from launch. Killing Floor 2's beta was in way better shape than this.

One of the things I was most notably surprised about was the upgrade in graphics - good. But it seemed to be lacking for fire and explosion effects?   I played a lot of firebug and demo in KF2, just felt like zero improvement if not even a step backward in FX there, which was disappointing, given the gfx improvements most other areas.
And yes, played with all settings maxed.
Had some issues with hitboxes, and odd movements from zeds, guns which didn't have a smooth firing animation, overall made the gameplay experience feeling disengaging, something I never had when playing the first 2 games.

Maybe expectations have just risen since then, maybe it's a beta issue and something which will be ironed out, but the experience waned my excitement for release, definitely.

Meta progression, crafting, talent trees, customisation, class abilities all great new mechanics to the game. But at the core, the gameplay experience should be king, that's why people play. Felt like alot more time has been spent trying to make the lobby /jet area fleshed out when it's practically obsolete, as opposed to gameplay/combat experience.

I've been playing Killing Floor since it was a mod on PC only over 2 decades ago. Have been playing every release ever since.
Although there are a few things I'm not thrilled about, I'm open to exploring these new ideas. I've put in about 15 hours on closed beta so far and I gotta say it feels like killing floor just in the future. The zed time isn't too much different than before, it's a new way to experience a futuristic version.
The game's gore hasn't really decreased dramatically and every enemy doesn't explode. Try running Bezerker and see for yourself.
I don't really understand why people have been complaining about the guns. You can literally customize the gun to your desire given you have the schematics unlocked and the attachment crafted. They have given more purpose to running matches and winning games. I get there aren't many weapons to pick from since they are locked per class but there's a reason why you can now customize your weapon.. it changes the weapons functionality. You can turn a sniper that deals cold damage to a sniper that deals electric damage. Instead of just "upgrading" your weapon from the trader, you can now actually upgrade it.
Now I will say I'm not happy about characters being locked to a class but it's not a deal breaker. They have made it so every class has an ability they can perform which is a cool experience given the futuristic aspect they are bringing with this game.
A comment above said the bosses are boringly east to kill. My question to you is, have you played Hard or Hell on Earth yet? Because it's quite the step up from Normal. Ive won every match on normal but have just succeeded in winning on Hard last night with a full squad. It takes more coordination now to beat bosses in higher difficulties.

There's a lot to explore with the new Killing Floor and I feel like a lot of people just loaded up closed beta, jumped into a match right away and then closed the game. the lack of people shooting down horzine tech tells me that because they didn't know about crafting material dropping from destroying the tech. I think people are being harsh with their criticism because they didn't get what they wanted. I remember KF2 beta had a lot of performance issues even when running with a beefier setup. Guys, it's still closed beta. The game will have bugs, glitches & performance issues. Make sure to report them so that the devs can work on fixing these issues for release date.

Overall, I'm happy to see a Killing Floor 3. I know it's a futuristic take on KF and there's somethings they've changed but they have added a ton of new stuff to dive in and explore. There now seems to be a story line (missions to complete) and thus more purpose to winning a game than just bragging rights. Only time will tell how well this game ages

I agree with this. Having played the beta quite a lot I can honestly say it just doesn't feel like a step up for the series but rather a quality grade down. It's not really horror anymore everything looks so greyish and dull. It slows down quite a bit alot even with 2 players online. The guns are boring. The abilities aren't that great and the enemies aren't foreboding at all. Even bosses are boringly easy to kill. I'm disappointed with what I've played so far after loving 2 so much.

Killing Floor 3 is currently in closed beta and scheduled for release in March. However, early gameplay impressions have left fans questioning whether the horde shooter can live up to its predecessor's success.
