I've been using the TCL NXTPAPER 50 Pro for a little while now, and honestly, I didn't expect to like it this much. The big selling point is the NXTPAPER screen, and it's actually legit—super easy on the eyes. It kind of feels like reading off real paper, especially in low light. No harsh brightness, no annoying glare, and way less eye strain after long reading sessions.

Performance is solid for everyday stuff—social media, YouTube, emails, even a bit of light gaming. It's not a high-end powerhouse, but it handles everything I need without lag. Battery life has been reliable too—easily lasts a full day.

The design is clean and simple, nothing flashy but it feels good in the hand. If you care about eye comfort or just want something different from the usual glossy displays, this phone is definitely worth checking out.

for OCR purpose, how to compare its OCR accuracy of macro lens with 2 megapixels with iPhone 12? Thanks for your detailed information.

I bought it and it clearly underperformed, compared to my Xiaomi redmi note 9 pro (global). But I would accept it if I could change the apps on max ink mode. After attempting updates and a weeke of emails with support such was not possible for my device. Luckily I bought it under a good return policy and will be shipped back soon.

As for the matte screen, I agree, we need more of that. If they also add e-ink modes it would be great.

Glossy screens are actually not ideal: reflections form in ambient light and they are very susceptible to fingerprints. We take a look at the TCL 50 Pro smartphone to see whether a matte display actually works or whether there are disadvantages here too.
