Plain A7 series is near entry level.  A7C series kind of took over entry level in 2019, though they usually tend to be more advanced than their plain A7 counterparts due to their later release dates.  Either way, A7s aren't flagship in anything.  They're a compromise at best.  You get what you pay for.

Sony has notified the Indonesian certification agency that there is a new camera model on the horizon. Judging by the model number and timing, it looks to be an A7 V flagship full-frame camera. Other rumours suggest that the upcoming A7 V will launch in March 2025, shortly after CP+ in Japan.
