QuoteMishaal Rahman has now shed light on the intended use of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and prospective performance losses.

He was wrong. The new OnePlus 13T is a flagship with a traditional formfactor and even comes with a vapor chamber for better cooling, yet has the SM8750-AB. As usual, it's cost cutting.

You know what, Mediatek was always the underdog and got a lot of flack, but in 2025 I've nothing bad to say.

Qualcomm however seems to be embroiled in controversy, overheating, sleezy business practices, and none of those are good for the consumer.

I'll vote with my wallet and take the 9400 this time out of principle. Removing performance and keeping the same name is just lying to consumers at this point.

A less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite version has begun shipping to OEMs. While Qualcomm insists that the SM8750-3-AB benefits from the same performance improvements as the regular Snapdragon 8 Elite, it has fewer Performance CPU cores than the original model.
