Not sure why writer says buyers can just install the Global ROM. Xiaomi recently changed their policy on bootloader unlocking and when they rolled out HyperOS last year also made a locked bootloader a condition of receiving OTA updates. If someone purchased this and didn't want to run the China ROM (and managed to successfully unlock the bootloader) the only option would be running a custom ROM. The China ROM does have an English language option and Google Play Services and the Google Play Store are easy to install but running an official Xiaomi Global ROM on that phone is not going to be an option.

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 14 series in China on September 26. Although the company hasn't formally launched the lineup outside China, it is now possible to import it unofficially.
