USB-A belongs among the "legacy" ports. This means: It is an outdated standard only maintained for legacy reasons, to be replaced by USB-C. With the affordable ThinkPad L14, Lenovo takes a step into the opposite direction: Instead of two USB-A ports, the budget business laptop has three USB-A ports.
