Rubbee X has done it previously and with the integrated suppression system looks much more robust and reliable TBH.

Roughly 6.5lbs resting on the top of the back tire with only a seatpost clamp to hold it on and in place is not going to give this device enough bite on the tire to produce enough torque to make it of any use. It may as well just be a rechargeable taillight.

I THINK THE DIRECTION IS TURNING IS GOING TO PUSH IT DOWN ON THE TIRE

Looks intriguing as I rember the bike equipment I had as a kid such as a head light with a wheel generator worked realy well... this little bike motor I'd like to try before making a  discouraging commentary I bet I'd be realy surprised

The LIVALL PikaBoost electric bike converter will shortly begin crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The 3 kg (~6.6 lbs) device is billed as suitable for all bicycles and can be mounted without needing tools. The 234 Wh battery can provide full assistance for 30 km (~18 miles) and can be recharged via a regenerative system.
