How did you come to that opinion? The attitude that human life is priceless is philosophical or political. We choose to believe it, we choose to behave that way. It is certainly not based in economy. From economical standpoint, your life is worth whatever you could produce had you lived. Because of your death, that is lost. Or more precisely, it would be the difference in output of the whole society. Just because you have a potential, doesn't mean society will benefit from it. Actually, your death could have a positive effect.
In our world, it's up to you to decide what your life is worth. How much you risk it, what precautions you take. Surely, if your life is priceless to you, you'd have no problem paying the subscription. Or getting a full-fledged satelite phone. Or locator beacon (in which case, RTFM; idiots who think they work like avalanche beacons are a nuisance). If you more in areas without decent cell coverage.
