I figure you mean 2.5K 2560x####? Don't forward the marketing misnomers!

I agree it would be nice to see more 17"+ options with taller aspect ratios.

I think that actual dot pitch is a bit coarse and pixelated, but DPI scaling has gotten a lot better than it used to be. So you can have your stuff big onscreen if you want it, without the pixelation in everything and without the market being littered with low-DPI displays again. Companies will jump on that, and it isn't a good baseline for consumers. It's better for OSes to patch up holes in DPI scaling/upscaling and for software companies to commit to developing/updating remaining software with better support for it.

At least they should have opted for 17.5 inch display. 15.6 inch is falling short for 4k and even 2k displays.

IMO the perfect dot pitch is the 14 inch 1366x768 screen.  Any pixel smaller is too excessive.  4K is great for TVs not for productive machines like laptops!
You never have a smartphone then

Xiaomi has confirmed more features about its next laptop, dubbed the Book Pro 2022. While the Xiaomi Book Pro 2022 will resemble the MacBook Air, it will feature an advanced display with a high native resolution and peak brightness, plus excellent colour accuracy. The Xiaomi Book Pro 2022 will arrive alongside other Xiaomi devices, like the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and the Smart Band 7 Pro.
