I owned this laptop since feburary 2019 and it was the best laptop i ever owned before my new one now. It never failed me and i always ran everything on High or Ultra. I put over 1 million keystrokes on that laptop with WASD/Space/LftAlt/Ctrl all worn off but work beautiful. Asus did a crazy good job with it and Im keeping mine forever. I mean now days there is just new hardware that makes buying this not useful but it was a super fire laptop that...temps get into the 80c but you will never burn your finger and it never died on me. The battery can no longer hold a charge either tho.

How can I get the ICC colour profile mentioned in the article, please?
I can't find any link to it.

Thank you

Guys. Just a bit of undervolt and your temps will never go higher than 83 degrees. If youre a gamer you will have nice pair of headphones anyway. So no biggie. I got this laptop in october. Using it without a single problem ever since.. :)

Even upgraded with 860 evo 1TB. Airflow seems to have never changed. Same temps. I even overclocked my gpu slightly.

Hello everyone, I'm going to buy the Asus Strix Scar 2 with rtx 2070. There is only one barette ram 16 GB so I would go to 2 for the benefit of the dual channel. Is adding a bar of 16 GB of a different brand but the same frequency works. Or is it better to buy a pair 2 * 8 same go. Thank you

Second question Hi, I would like to know if the fans noise is really annoy in game.
if the noise can really annoy someone in the same room .

Thanks

It might be because you only have one stick of RAM so that it operates in single-channel mode. I am not allowed to post links here due to low post-count but there is a discussion on this in the forum at notebookreview.com in a thread called asus-rog-strix-scar-ii-gl504gw-ds74-owners-lounge, page 2.

Dear Redaktion!

I have the same model (except mine has single channel 16 gigs of ram), and I have way less fps in games than you do. For example, the dota 2 benchmark with the timedemo gets me an average of 79 fps with the highest preset, the GTA V pass 4 with the ultra preset used by you gives me an average of 54 fps, and I experience serious drops in Battlefield 5 too, in the mid 40-s, just while running around in multiplayer.

In the case of GTA 5 i have a GPU usage of 50-60% at max, and the MSI afterburner indicates a power limit, while the card is sitting between a GPU clock speed of 1750 -1850 MHz (which is strange since the boost clock should be 1440 with this card). On the other hand, the 3Dmark firestrike (1920x1080) benchmark gave me 19506 points for the graphics score, which is a bit higher than yours.

Do you have any idea why my model performs way worse than yours in games? Everything is set to high/maximum performance in windows system settings, and in the nvidia contol panel.

Thanks in advance,
Inkv1zitoR

My Temps on my new ROG are fine sometimes hit 70-75c but nothing crazy. If I repaste it it'll be perfect. Same with Cpu.

Disappointing about the temps and noise - I also can't get used to the camo chassis. Looks an embarrassment. I think a decent compromise if you want a full 2070 is the MSI Raider 17 - but still looks too gamer for my liking.

I am seriously looking for a good laptop with a 2070 not Max-q.... while this looks good and I can do with the fan noise, extremely high temps during gaming aren't really making me feel safe about buying this...

ASUS is one of the first manufacturers to update their gaming laptops with NVIDIA RTX GPUs. The GL704 is one such model and is one of the most compact 17-inch gaming laptops on the market. Read on to see what, if any, performance boost the RTX 2070 brings and how it affects cooling.
