Even for non-LLM AI with tiny objects, I also recommend at least 32 GB RAM. 16 GB can work, but only until it suddenly doesn't. 32 gives peace of mind.

AI requires memory size, memory speed and compute / GPU performance, so in this sense, any gaming laptop that has the additional 6-8 GB VRAM GPU is superior (700-800 bucks for a 16 GB RAM config, then just upgrade to 32 GB RAM, as it also will have upgradable RAM (check that it has)) to these iGPU-only devices. The additional 8 GB of (fast) memory/VRAM of the GPU makes all the difference in being able to fit and run these general purpose 27-35B SOTA/frontier AI models at a useful context size at good speed. And the GPU can be useful for gaming as well, of course.
