I just took a look at these new Googlebooks prices in Canada, all major brands have launched them (meaning anything from cheapo Acer to premium Lenovo and the like) - prices ranging from CA$1400 to CA$1900 before sales taxes.
I get the premium display and light design, but this is essentially a glorified Android tablet with an attached keyboard. You can (and should) get a pretty good X86 or ARM notebook for this price.
This is beyond misguided for a business strategy. These things are DOA.
The new HP Googlebook 14c combines a high-quality chassis, a high-resolution OLED display, and a Snapdragon processor with Google's new operating system. The result is an expensive laptop with significant limitations.
