Noctua is researching whether micro-channel cooling technology used for high-density servers can be adapted for desktop PCs and workstations. The approach could move very large amounts of heat using air rather than liquid, but today it needs industrial blowers or vacuum pumps — exactly the noise problem Noctua must solve.
