I struggle to think of a worse benchmark than this. A single, only partially GPU utilizing artificial benchmark. This is so myopic is hurts. I guarantee when real, actual benchmarks come out the 5090 will be miles ahead of the m5 ultra in actual tasks you use a GPU for like playing games or running local ML models quickly. The m5 will definitely have an advantage in memory size vis a vis the 5090 but I'd be surprised if it won in prefill or tokens per second.
Apple's M5 Ultra has finally made its appearance on the Blender benchmark database. If the numbers are anything to go by, it appears that the monstrous 80-core GPU is all set to bring the heat to Nvidia's top-of-the-line desktop GPU.
