Our 2018 Hyundai Ioniq is 10kwh/100km. Better in town, worse on the highway. With our 28kwh battery we get 150+ miles of range. The industry has gone backwards in the last 8 years. But hey, 0-100kmh in less than 4 seconds! Now that the americans, and their obsession with performance, don't care about EV's can we focus resources on efficiency? My Ioniq looks like a regular Hyundai Elantra. If Hyundai could do this 8 years ago, why can't anyone do it now?

Comedy gold. The Heil-a-cab is not a serious proposition. Tesla still haven't cracked autonomous driving, so "ramping production" on a vehicle with no steering wheel is a joke.

These are all pipe dreams, but I'm more excited about a design that tests technology that might actually make it into a car I can drive than a rubbish pseudo-taxi where its only practical purpose is to goose the on-paper wealth of a fascist.

It still has a steering wheel. Proves they aren't serious. Cybercab is already scaling production. VW can't do software. Will require multiple businesses taking a cut. Uber etc. Tesla vertically integrated. Car efficiency is one aspect of many. This won't be cost competitive to cybercab by a long margin

Ev Efficiency should be way further up the list of priorities while energy densities are so limited and costly. Pretty funny that it is so similar to GM's EV1 30 years ago and it would be fitting for this to become a huge hit for VW when GM scrapped it and their own chances to be a leader in the space.
