QuoteHowever, it seems it hasn't changed Valve's plans for the Steam Deck 2.
Valve will simply adjust the Steam Deck 2's price according to that year's memory and everything else' price situation, like everybody else.
But the reason why there still hasn't been a Steam Deck 2, is FPS per Watt and VALVE still wants/needs a couple of full node shrinks.
Wonder if VALVE will use a off the shelf AMD 15W TDP notebook iGPU chip or work with AMD on a custom 10W one. Wonder how Steam Deck 2's sales would have been of a 10W package power vs a 15W one, if the Steam Deck 2 would have been bigger due to the 15W TDP chip. But if developing a custom 10W chip is too expensive, then VALVE has no choice, and would have to use the off the shelp 15W ones. I guess VALVE could still limit the power from 15W to 10W and make a Steam Deck 2 that is not bigger than the original Steam Deck, if people really want a Steam Deck 2 that is not bigger and heavier than the original Steam Deck.
