The main selling point of this laptop has not been addressed, or I may have skipped it by accident.
You get a laptop with sensible levels of modularity and repairability, no hipster tax and future upgrade paths, at least that's what XMG promised on condition that the first generation sells well. Similar to the Acer Vero which has just been previewed on the Notebookcheck YT channel.
They gave a (from my perspective) weird justification on why they opted for this RAM layout, they could have opted for LPCAMM2 despite the higher price, but I'm not an industry expert, I don't know what's going on behind the scenes.
The Schenker Element 16 is a new 16-inch multimedia/business laptop with Intel Panther Lake processors and a focus on repairability and upgradeability. You get a good matte 120 Hz IPS screen and long battery runtimes, but only slow iGPU options and poor speakers.
