I haven't seen the previous model, the SN77 anywhere in Europe either. And they weren't asking for a high minimum batch size, they were selling minimum 1000 models to anyone interested. I highly doubt there weren't any European resellers who couldn't have sold 1000 laptops with Strix Halo with a profit.

Also, they do have access to more sensible Strix Halo SKUs like the 388, they launched a "gaming tablet" with it. Maybe they should have focused on that.

Gorgon Halo is a software-patched Strix Halo to support more than 128 GB RAM; all Ryzen AI 400 are a rename/refresh of Ryzen AI 300 series.
Wish AMD would allow for 256 GB RAM straight away and not artificially limiting the maximum RAM config..
On desktop B850 motherboards, up to 256 GB RAM are possible, and this is on a 128-bit memory interface (aka dual-channel). Strix/Gorgon Halo use a 256-bit memory interface (aka quad-channel) (and faster RAM, too, btw.), so by this argument, up to 512 GB RAM should be possible on Strix/Gorgon Halo, and even more, because the memory speed is up to 2x faster VS desktop's 5600 MT/s, too, so, like easily 768 GB RAM then.
But, 256 GB, or more, RAM, is where Medusa Halo comes in later.

That said, 192 GB RAM is nice, because it allows to fully fit huggingface.co/unsloth/DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731-GGUF at its native weights (162 GB) + a decent amount of context. Or any other 4-bit quant of a ~300B parameters model. Or a lower-end 4-bit quant of huggingface.co/unsloth/GLM-5.3-Flash-GGUF (IQ4_XS), tho this is where 256 GB RAM would be nice.

Interesting times.  I either want this or the n1x system, and it all comes down to if Nvidia has a decent ARM varient of windows to offer.

Linux is great but it has always sat in a weird spot for developers.  I want visual studios (windows) android studio (windows) unreal (windows) etc etc and the AI i even want, i want to support that ecosystem.

So linux isnt on the table... at all.

So if N1X doesnt offer a stable windows solution for that, then it is pointless for me.

And i may end up going with Ryzen instead.  If a lot of people feel this way... then you end up with a lot of developers shifting to AMD to write code.

I have to wonder how dedicated Microsoft could be to supporting Nvidia when they could profit so much off the CUDA moat collapsing.
