This is still sounding pretty close to a 1:1 remake. It sounds like people are mixing up what a remake and a remaster are. A remaster is a graphical facelift, a remake is a complete overhaul from the ground up.

It's referring to the franchise as a whole (the first game came out in 1986), not just OoT.

A recent leak indicates that the upcoming Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake for the Nintendo Switch 2 will not be a strict 1:1 recreation of the 1998 classic. Nintendo insider Necro Filipe recently shared on X that developers applied significant modernizations and completely rethought entire gameplay systems.
