Rapid charging damages lithium batteries. Samsung offers 7 uears of updates so they want the battery to last 7 years.

Samsung has equipped its entry-level flagship phone with 25 W charging for the past six generations, and that doesn't seem likely to change with the Galaxy S27. According to a certification listing, the compact premium phone will launch next year with the slowest charging technology of all devices in its class.
