Only Google could somehow simultaneously over-engineer and completely underdevelop something that we already solved over a decade ago.   Even Google's original Nexus line had a configurable RGB led and I never once heard of it dying.  Yet here we are over 15 years later and Google decided to gofe us back a feature they took away for no reason except worse in every way.

The default abilities are extremely limited.  You have to use third party software to do any actual customization. And Google has already sounded the alarm that this LED array was not designed for any kind of prolonged use so the whole thing has to be limited by software to stop it from killing itself.

Way to go guys.  Sick innovation.
