Sales drops over time is not the same as actual price drops. Unless psn has regular sales... which we know they won't, games will stay full price. The ps3/ps vita stores were testament to that, although indies on ps vita went on sale quit a bit, not first party titles.

When digital was first taking off, people said it would be cheaper than physical because there was no manufacturing overhead. What happened to that?

I bought a physical FF16 on PS5 for $24. Has that game ever been that cheap on Playstation store let alone any other platform?

No. Digital is a scam.

this guy said "likely", so it's also just a  speculation. Plus, Square Enix also go for GKC than proper Switch 2 game card. You'd thought they could cover the physical publishing cost as a major publisher but turns out they too cheapened out as possible as they can compared to other smaller publishers that made "backward compatible" Switch 2 game card (Switch 1 and Switch 2 upgrade pack in one game card rather than Switch 2 standalone executable)

Jacob Navok says that buyers will save money in an all-digital future. After the demise of physical games, the one-time Square Enix business lead predicts lower prices on the PS Store. He argues that having more publishers on the marketplace will encourage deeper discounts.
