I have another one similar to this so I was able to figure out the filters, reticles and most settings, but it would be nice if this came with better than a 1 small page setup sheet. Regardless, I did get some chipmunks frolicking about outside in the dark in the video on the first try. The camera has a date and time stamp that seemed to update automatically when I plugged it into my computer and established a link to it. Some are complaining about this. It has all the features except thermal temperature readings which is an upgrade hence the picatinny rail that comes with it. It has a nice box and everything stores well in it and the touch screen is very nice and folds out and also rotates per your filming method. The picatinny mount btw I am going to use for a small tactical flashlight I have so I can momentarily see in front of me. It has a laser pointer actuated by a trigger for seeing where you are pointing at in low light scenarios.It also has a down facing flashlight which is nice to see the ground when you need to. When you connect it to your router it will automatically download new firmware if needed and install it which goes fast. It has a nice strap for the case and a carry handle, battery charger and USB cord as well.You can take pictures and video with it much like a cell phone and the pinch to zoom feature works the same way.It is a nice product overall if you are into watching critters out back. It also can be very useful for tracking game animals as well.
The DV2 is a fun and useful tool for wildlife observation, especially during low-light conditions. The thermal imaging makes it much easier to spot animals that would otherwise be difficult to see, and the display is clear enough to identify movement and heat signatures at a distance.I like the rotatable screen so it makes viewing easier from different angles. The unit feels well-built, and the controls were fairly straightforward to learn. Battery life has been adequate so far, and the size is compact and makes it easy to carry along.There is a bit of a learning curve when adjusting settings and focusing for the best image quality. While the thermal detection work enough to get the just of it, I found that image clarity can vary depending on conditions and distance.Overall, this is still a solid thermal monocular for birding and wildlife observation. It offers good performance for the price and has made spotting animals much easier.
